**In stock** Used Alto Saxophone SELMER Mark 7, 1st hand, 295xxx
Now in the Advent special! Don’t miss a surprise—follow our Advent Calendar daily.
We have just overhauled this SELMER Mark 7 Alto. As we often do, we have used the highest quality CHANU pads. For the resonators we deliberately chose metal resonators made of stainless INOX. The resonators have no rivets and are similar to the resonators that SELMER also uses in its current models. Compared to plastic resonators, metal resonators develop a more versatile overtone structure and more dynamics when played more powerfully.
The SELMER Mark 7 alto saxophones are often underestimated and do not have as good a reputation as their predecessor model, the Mark VI, which is probably the most famous saxophone in the world. But in my opinion, the less good reputation is not justified as far as sound quality and intonation are concerned, because it has nothing to hide behind a Mark VI from the last years of manufacture 1974/1975. It is a little different, but by no means inferior, has a full, rich core and a really good radiance. The keywork is a little rougher and not as delicate as the Selmer Mark VI, okay, but otherwise it is a really great SELMER saxophone that is available for less money than a Mark VI!
We acquired this Mark 7 from the heir of a deceased professional musician who bought it new in the late 1970s and delighted many listeners with his music!
